About Price List Compare

Price List Compare is a free browser tool for checking changes between two supplier or product price lists. It is designed for people who want a clear comparison without writing spreadsheet formulas.

How a comparison works

Choose an original and a new XLSX or CSV file, select the relevant sheet and columns, then compare. Products are matched by their exact displayed product code or SKU. Capitalization and spaces matter. Names are optional and are never used to guess a match.

For example, a product changing from 18.50 to 19.80 has increased by 1.30, or approximately 7.03%. Prices must use the same currency, units, and tax basis for this comparison to be meaningful.

What the results mean

Increased, Decreased, and Unchanged describe products found in both lists. Added means the code appears only in the new list. Missing from new list means the code appears only in the original list; it is not a claim that the product is discontinued.

Why some rows need review

Duplicate codes, blank codes, invalid prices, and formula cells are separated for review. If a code is ambiguous on one side, its matching row on the other side is also excluded. Correct the source file and select it again to compare those products.

Free beta limits

Files can be up to 5 MB, with up to 20,000 rows and 200 columns per sheet. Prices must be non-negative with up to six decimal places. Use decimal points rather than decimal commas. Existing lost zeros or rounded numeric codes cannot be reconstructed. Review results before making purchasing decisions.
